Which Niftylift Decal Kit Do I Need

If you're searching for Niftylift decals and you're not certain which kit fits your machine, you're in good company. Niftylift has built a wide range of trailer-mounted, self-drive and self-propelled boom lifts over the years, and the decal layout can differ between model variants and between production years on the same model.

Order the wrong kit and you've wasted time and money. This guide covers the Niftylift models we're asked about most, explains the difference between the safety and cosmetic kits, and shows you exactly what to check on your machine before you order.

Why Getting the Right Decal Kit Matters

Decals on an access platform aren't decoration. Safety decals communicate operating limits, hazard warnings and safe working procedures to whoever is using the machine, which makes them part of how the platform is presented as fit for use. A machine with missing, faded or illegible labelling may be picked up at inspection and leaves you exposed if something goes wrong.

For hire fleets this matters twice over. Most operators check decal condition as part of their pre-hire and off-hire process, and a machine going out with half its labelling missing reflects on you before the customer has even switched it on. A replacement kit puts the machine back to its original specification quickly and at a fraction of the cost of the alternatives.

Safety Kits vs Cosmetic Kits — What's the Difference?

Almost every enquiry we get starts here, so it's worth being clear:

  • Safety decal kits contain the warning, hazard and operational labels — load limits, safe operating instructions, warning symbols and pictograms. These are the ones that matter for inspection and compliance.
  • Cosmetic decal kits contain the branding — the Nifty model decals, the Niftylift name and the colour graphics that make the machine look factory-fresh.

If your machine is heading for inspection or going back into hire fleet service, the safety kit is the priority. If you're refurbishing for resale or bringing a tired machine back up to standard, ordering both gives you full coverage. Our safety kits are based on a standard specification machine and don't include cosmetic or control panel decals, so order both if you need the lot.

Niftylift HeightRider (HR) Self-Propelled Booms

Niftylift HR10 Decal Kits

The HR10 is the compact end of the HeightRider range and a common sight on maintenance and facilities work. Both a HR10 safety decal kit and a HR10 cosmetic decal kit are available.

Niftylift HR12 Decal Kits

The HR12 has been in production in various forms for a long time, and the variant matters here. Our HR12 NDE safety decal kit covers the narrow bi-energy machine, and the HR12 cosmetic decal kit covers the branding decals.

If you're running an HR12 4x4, HR12E or HR12LE rather than the NDE, send us your serial number before ordering and we'll confirm which kit matches your machine.

Niftylift HR15 Decal Kits

The HR15 is one of the most widely used machines in the range and one of our most requested kits. Both the HR15 safety decal kit and the HR15 cosmetic decal kit are available to order.

Niftylift HR21 Decal Kits

The HR21 is the model where production year makes the biggest difference, so check before you order. There are two safety kits:

The HR21 cosmetic decal kit covers the branding side. If you're unsure which side of 2017 your machine sits on, the serial number will tell us.

Niftylift SD Self-Drive Booms

Niftylift SD120T Decal Kits

The SD120T brings self-drive capability to the 12m trailer-derived platform, and it has its own decal specification rather than sharing the 120T layout. Both the SD120T safety decal kit and the SD120T cosmetic decal kit are available.

Niftylift SD170 Decal Kits

The larger SD170 has its own dedicated SD170 safety decal kit covering the full set of required labelling for the model.

Niftylift Trailer-Mounted Machines

The towable range is where model codes cause the most confusion, because the differences between a 120, a 120T, a 120 MPE and a 120TPET are easy to miss on a quick glance at the machine. Check the plate rather than going from memory.

Niftylift 90 Decal Kits

The compact 90 has its own safety decal kit covering the required labelling.

Niftylift 120 Series Decal Kits

The 120 is the model that started the trailer-mounted range and has been produced in several forms. Available kits:

Because this model has been around for so many years, the kits can differ slightly depending on which parts manual applies to your machine. Ours are based on a standard specification. If the decals on your machine look different to what's shown, get in touch before ordering and we'll check it against your serial number.

Niftylift 170 Decal Kits

The 170 trailer-mounted platform has its own safety decal kit covering all required labelling for the model.

Niftylift Paint Colours

Niftylift's signature green is one of the most recognisable liveries in the access industry, and it's the second thing people ask about once they've sorted their decals. Scuffed panels and chipped edges around a fresh set of decals rather undo the effort.

If you've been hunting for an official Niftylift green RAL code, you won't find one published. The green is a proprietary manufacturer colour rather than a standard RAL reference. Our Niftylift green spray paint is matched to the factory finish and supplied in an aerosol suited to touch-up and repair work.

How to Find Your Niftylift Model and Serial Number

The model and serial number are shown on the machine's data plate. On Niftylift platforms this is typically found:

  • On the chassis or base frame, often near the towing eye or axle on trailer-mounted machines
  • Inside or adjacent to the ground control box
  • On the turret or boom base on self-propelled models

The serial number identifies the production year, which is what decides the kit on models like the HR21 where the specification changed mid-run. If you can't read the plate or aren't sure how to interpret it, photograph it and send it over with your enquiry — we'll identify the machine and confirm the right kit.

Don't See Your Model Listed?

The models above are the ones we're asked for most often, but the Niftylift range is much larger — HR17, HR28, SD210, TD120T and the older TM-series trailer mounts among them. If yours isn't listed, we can usually still supply a kit or produce one to your machine's specification.

Send us the model and serial number, or a photo of the data plate, and we'll confirm what's available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the safety kit, the cosmetic kit, or both?

The safety kit contains the hazard, warning and operational labels needed for inspection and compliance. The cosmetic kit contains the Niftylift branding and model decals. If your machine is going through inspection or back into hire, order the safety kit. If you're refurbishing for resale or want the machine looking as it did from the factory, order both. Our safety kits don't include cosmetic or control panel decals, so they don't overlap.

My machine only has a couple of decals missing — do I need a full kit?

If several labels are missing, damaged or faded, the full kit is almost always the cheaper route, as individual decals sourced separately add up quickly. If you genuinely only need one or two specific labels, get in touch and we'll tell you whether they're available individually for your model.

How do I know which production year my machine is?

The serial number on the data plate identifies the year. This matters most on the HR21, where the specification changed and there are separate kits for 2004–2016 and 2017 onwards. Send us a photo of the plate and we'll confirm which kit you need.

What's the difference between the 120T, the 120 MPE and the SD120T?

They're different machines despite the shared 120 in the name. The 120T and 120 MPE are trailer-mounted platforms with different power and specification options, while the SD120T is the self-drive version and carries its own decal layout. Check the full model designation on the data plate rather than going by the machine's appearance — this is the single most common cause of a wrong order on Niftylift kits.

Do you supply kits for the HR17 and HR28?

These aren't listed as stock kits on the site, but get in touch with your model and serial number. We hold artwork and specifications well beyond what's shown online, and where we don't we can usually produce a kit to match your machine.

Will the decals match the originals?

Our Niftylift kits are produced to match the original factory specification for content, layout and colour. We print onto high-quality UV-protected vinyl designed to stand up to outdoor use, weathering and the cleaning regimes typical for access equipment.

How quickly can I get a Niftylift decal kit delivered?

Stock items ordered before 3pm are despatched the same day, with UK mainland delivery typically the next working day. For international orders, see our shipping page for estimated timescales to your country.
