If you run, hire out or maintain access platforms, you already know the decals on the machine aren't decoration. They carry the operating limits, hazard warnings and safe-use instructions the machine was built with — and they're usually the first thing to look tired after a few years of site work, pressure washing and UV exposure.
The difficulty is working out which kit you actually need. Every manufacturer numbers its machines differently, most models changed decal specification part-way through production, and a kit for one variant often won't match the machine parked next to it. This guide runs through the main access platform brands we stock, so you can narrow it down before you order.
Safety kits and cosmetic kits — what's the difference?
Almost every kit we sell falls into one of two categories, and it's worth being clear which one you need:
- Safety decal kits contain the operational and hazard warning labels — load limits, safe operating instructions, warning symbols and control markings. These are the ones that matter for inspection and for putting a machine back into hire fleet service.
- Cosmetic decal kits cover branding, model identification and colour graphics. These are what make a machine look factory-fresh again, and they're the priority if you're refurbishing for resale.
If a machine is going through inspection or back out on hire, start with the safety kit. If you're restoring a machine properly, order both.
Niftylift decal kits
Niftylift's range splits fairly cleanly into self-propelled and trailer-mounted machines. The HR series (HR10, HR12, HR15, HR21) covers the self-propelled articulating booms, the SD series covers the larger self-propelled models, and the numbered models — 90, 120, 120T/TPE, 170 — are the trailer-mounted machines you'll see on utilities and grounds maintenance work.
The HR21 is the one to watch: the decal specification changed for machines built from 2017 onwards, so the production year matters before you order.

Skyjack decal kits
Skyjack model numbers are usefully descriptive once you know the pattern: the first two digits are roughly the working height in feet, the second two the platform width. So an SJ3219 is a 32ft machine on a 19in-wide chassis.
- SJ16 — the vertical mast lift, available as a safety decal kit and a cosmetic decal kit.
- SJ3219, SJ3220, SJ3226 — the narrow slab scissors that make up most UK hire fleets. The SJ3219 safety kit listed covers 2014–2019 machines; there's a separate kit for 2020–2023, so check the serial number. A cosmetic kit is also available. See also the SJ3220 and SJ3226 kits.
- SJ4626, SJ4632 — the mid-size slab scissors: SJ4626 and SJ4632.
- SJ6826RT, SJ6832RT — the rough terrain machines, with decal requirements reflecting outdoor use: SJ6826RT and SJ6832RT.

Haulotte decal kits
Haulotte's naming runs across four families, and the family tells you most of what you need to know:
- Compact series — electric slab scissors. Kits available for the Compact 8, Compact 10, Compact 12, Compact 12DX and Compact 14, plus the rough terrain Compact 10 RTE and Compact 12 RTE.
- Star and Optimum series — the compact vertical mast machines used for indoor and confined-space work: Star 10 (a new-style version and a cosmetic kit are also listed), Star 6 (2019 onwards), Optimum 6 and Optimum 8.
- H series — the larger diesel scissors and telescopic machines: H15SX, H15SDX, H18SX, H21TX, H23TPX and H25TPX.
- HA series — the articulating booms: HA16PX, HA16SPX, HA18PX, HA20PX, HA120PX and HA260PX.

JCB decal kits
JCB's access platform range is the S series of electric scissor lifts, and it's one of the more straightforward brands to order for — one kit per model, with the model number following the same height-and-width logic as most scissor lifts.

Manitou decal kits
We stock kits for the Manitou vertical mast lifts and the articulating boom range:
- Manitou 80VJR — vertical mast lift
- Manitou 100VJR — vertical mast lift
- Manitou 160ATJ — articulating boom, kit covering 2010 onwards
JLG decal kits
JLG splits neatly between the ES electric scissors, the rough terrain machines and the boom range:
- ES scissor lifts — 1930ES, 2030ES, 2630ES, 2646ES and 3246ES.
- Rough terrain — the 260MRT.
- Articulating booms — 450AJ, 600AJ and 800AJ.
- Telescopic booms — 660SJ and 1350SJP, with a 1350SJP cosmetic kit also available.

How to find your model and serial number
Whatever the brand, ordering the right kit comes down to two pieces of information: the model and the serial number. The data plate is usually found:
- On the chassis or base frame
- Inside the control box or under a panel cover
- On the platform or guardrail frame, on some models
The serial number tells you the production year, which is what separates the variants on models like the Skyjack SJ3219 and the Niftylift HR21. If you're not sure how to read it, photograph the data plate and send it over — we can identify the correct kit from the serial number.
Touch-up paint
Machines that need new decals usually need paint too. We stock touch-up paint matched to the factory finishes for the main access platform and plant manufacturers — see the machinery paint collection. Worth knowing: several manufacturer colours have no official RAL reference at all, because they're proprietary mixes rather than standard shades. Matching to the manufacturer's own specification is the reliable route.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the safety kit, the cosmetic kit, or both?
The safety kit contains the hazard warning and operational labels — load limits, safe operating instructions, warning symbols. The cosmetic kit covers branding, colour graphics and model identification. For inspection or a return to hire fleet service, the safety kit is the priority. For a full refurbishment or a machine being prepared for sale, order both.
Why does the production year matter so much?
Manufacturers revise decal layouts mid-production — new symbols, changed capacity ratings, different control panel markings. Two machines with the same model number but five years apart can take different kits. The serial number is what settles it, which is why we ask for it rather than just the model.
Some of my decals are missing but not all. Do I need a full kit?
If several are missing or illegible, a full kit is almost always cheaper than sourcing decals individually. If it's genuinely just one or two labels, get in touch — we can often supply individual decals for a given model.
Will replacement decals match the originals?
Our kits are produced to match the original factory specification for content, layout and colour, and printed on UV-protected durable vinyl designed to survive outdoor use, weathering and the cleaning regimes typical of hire fleet machines.
How quickly can I get a kit?
Most kits are held in UK stock and despatched the same day when ordered before 3pm. UK mainland delivery is typically next day; European orders usually arrive in 1–2 days, and the USA and Australia in around 3 days.
Can you supply kits for machines you don't list online?
Often, yes. The website shows the models we're asked for most regularly, not everything we can produce. If your machine isn't listed, send the model and serial number — and a photo of the data plate if you have one — and we'll tell you what's possible.
